Our Ballerina

This last week at ballet, I got to watch Keira do her thing. She was beautiful and so happy to perform. I was impressed with how much coordination she had and the way she followed instructions. Here's some pics of our little ballerina.

Halloween 09

Here's some pics of our pirate, his princess and the scarly gorilla. We had fun visitin Grandma Evelyn's, eating Chinese at Grandpa Walter's and trick or treating and watching a movie with the Schurch Family!

Blue Lake

For Thanksgiving, we headed out for our annual weekend with Jason's dad's family. This year we tried out a new resort after going to Loon Lake for over 20 years! Blue Lake was a couple hours closer which was nice. It is a small secluded lake surround by some hills. We enjoyed boating, fishing, hiking, playing in the playground, eating, hot tubbing, sitting around the campfire and playing games. Aidan caught a fish and Michael and Keira tried very hard to catch one too.It was very very cold up there but we had beautiful clear weather. Thankfully, our cabin was nice and cozy but others were not so fortunate as their woodstoves did not work so well. A highlight was hiking up the small mountain with all the kids. We were very impressed that the kids made it all the way to the top with very little complaining. We were even more impressed with our friend Darla Boese who also made it up as she was 7 months pregnant. (The Boeses came up for one night to visit and squished into our cabin with us.) From the top of the hill, we could look down onto the lake and our cabins. We also hid a geocache up there which the kids enjoyed. As usual, we had a fabulous time.

Canning Peaches

On Labour Day, we spent a day with our Boese friends canning peaches and preparing our deck for painting while the kids had fun playing. It was one of those fun days of working together and having fun doing it. We hadn't seen much of each other over the summer so it was a great day to catch up on all the summer happennings. We even ate a delicious ham dinner complete with homemade bread and peaches and ice cream for dessert, of course. The night ended with the kids snuggled in bed and the adults plopped on the couch for a movie. I wish I had more days like that. Thanks friends!

My 3 Year Old Princess

Last week my little girl turned 3. It really does seem like such a short time ago that she surprised us by her arrival. What do I say about Keira at 3? She is vibrant, full of emotion, loving, delightful, and stubborn. She loves to dress up as a princess and pretend she is a mommy or a kitty. She can play for hours with Michael and not so long with Aidan. She is very attached to her Mommy and needs her for everything. She loves her daddy's hugs and kisses. Did I mention she is very stubborn? She is good at riding a tricycle and has the cutest little butt wiggle when she runs. She also knows exactly what she wants and is extremely stubborn. We love our little 3 year old and are very proud of the little girl she has become so far!
For her birthday party, we had a princess party. The guests dressed up as princesses or princes, we played princess music, ate castle cake, played "Pass the princess tea pot", "Princess freeze dance" and the "Princess and the Pea". She was absolutely beside herself with delight and getting to blow out her very own candles and was so excited about the presents she could barely breathe. It was priceless to watch her feel so special. Here are some pics of our little 3 year old!
