Moyie Lake

Well, I'm overdue on my blogging and what could be better way to procrastinate cleaning the house than to sit down and remember the fun gone by.

At the end of July we met my sister and family at Moyie Lake near Cranbrook. It was a long 11 hour drive for us (only 5 for them) so we were sure glad to see their smiling faces when we arrived. Our plan was to be there for 6 nights but the uncooperation of our youngest children to sleep at night plus some bad weather scared us away after night 4 so we ended up in Calgary for a few nights at my sister's place. Keira decided to figure out how to climb out of the playpen so she had to learn to go to sleep and Haley was bothered by all the strange noises including the dog that barked its head off every time somebody walked by. It was a beautiful campground and lake but windy!! We were expecting to spend a lot of time on the beach and in the water but the wind made it difficult for the kids to enjoy it for too long.

I don't think we would go back there but it was great hanging out together and it ended well with a great time in Calgary together. Leah and I got to go shopping, went to the waterpark, took the train to downtown Calgary and went to the park and we all got some much needed sleep. Then, on the way home we were making such good time that we made a crazy decision to make a little detour at Hope to Hicks Lake near Harrison to visit Jason's sister, Andrea and family. We picked up hot dogs and hung out with them for a couple hours before making the last stretch home.
