Aidan and Michael spent a lot of time playing and fighting on top of this trailer. They even managed to tie some people on top!

Loon Lake
Every year, our family travels 4-5 hours (depending how much yelling is happenning in the car) to Loon Lake up near Cache Creek. We go with Jason's dad's family and every year we have a blast. It is fun (and sometimes tiring and stressful :)) experiencing this tradition through our kid's eyes. They love it--the food, the attention, the boats, the fishing, the campfires, the playing outside--and we love it just as much (except for those tiring stressful moments :))! This year, there were many highlights. It was great to see Aidan help to catch 5 fish. His main contribution which he is very proud of was choosing the worms. Jason fulfilled a dream by renting a platform boat which could seat all of us. It enabled us to even get Jason's grandma out on the water. We soon learned on this excursion that I should never drive boats--had a lot of trouble keeping focused enough to drive straight. This probably had much to do with Keira running wild on a boat in the middle of a lake. Speaking of running wild, that would describe Keira well this weekend. She was everywhere and into everything she was not supposed to. She thinks she can keep up with all the older kids and tries with much determination to do what she wants to do. The food is always a focus of this weekend and it was no exception this year. Of course, the turkey dinner put together by Walter and Julia was spectacular. I discovered that the Faulkner siblings + James are quite the singers--NOT! Well, we enjoyed their renditions of several crazy songs as Terry (Darla's boyfriend) and Jason played the guitar. This year Scrabble and Crib were the games of choice and apparently my husband whipped a few butts in Scrabble which he is quite proud of. Other highlights were long walks, good chats and lots of laughter. The lowlight was definitely the drive home as our children screeched and fought with each other all the way home. The day after Loon Lake has definitely been no picnic either as everybody has been so tired. I think Aidan and Michael may have set another record for time outs. But certainly, another wonderful year spent enjoying God's creation and good family!!
Famous Loon Lake breakfast on the fire. Delicious!
All the kids! So cute!

Wow, looks like a great time had for all. I think our family should look at doing something like Horn lake again. That was lots of fun. LOve you all and miss you all the same, Patrick and Candy
Looks like a fabulous thanksgiving! Glad you had such a great time and it looks like great weather! Hopefully the kids are well rested today and not so difficult. I'm sure I will be looking forward to a few days like that upon our return to St.John's. Miss you and we'll chat soon!
What a fun time! I'm not surprised about Jason's Scrabble playing skills either. He definately comes up with words I've never heard of before :) I hope you had a dictionary on hand.
Your family always has a good time on this Thanksgiving outing...such great memories you are making! Aidan looks very proud of his fish...did he eat them too? I am sure he will be taking that picture to Preschool to show off! Jason has a crazy family!! But so much fun...there is usually always a price to pay for those fun crazy times!! Love you!
